Three out of the four practical university problems of the day in England, stated by Prof. Bryce in his lecture on English universities, exist as well for Harvard to solve. (1) Rightly Mr. Bryce named the reduction of expenses for students as the first of these problems. It is difficult to see any way by which this reform can be practically secured for Harvard.
