This car, which Dr. Bridges calls "Lightning Bug," looks something like the Dymaxion designed by Architect Richard Buckminster Fuller (TIME, June 12, 1933), but is smaller and squattier. ...view in Manhattan last week were 31 which included: a lazy peon sound asleep on the back of a patient donkey, his head on a blanket of bright green broccoli; a toothsome slant-eyed dancing girl, pigtails and red skirts whirling; a bug-eyed Mussolini, giving the Fascist salute; a scrawny-necked bass viol player in the wreck of a brown frock coat; an Indian dancer of Oxaca in a tremendous headdress of flowers and shells. Behind him an Italian officer held high the Italian flag that had been hauled down from the same Ethiopian village in 1896. Behind them both marched a carefully chosen column of Ras Gugsa's own tribesmen, tall fezzed Askaris from Eritrea, and a regiment of Italian Bersaglieri, cock feathers fluttering from their...

Swaggering about last week in a swank Italian uniform, puttees and sun helmet, Ras Gugsa was ready to be set up as a puppet ruler by Il Duce should occasion offer...
