William Kunstler, the radical New York lawyer who has defended Native American activists, has volunteered to represent Lonetree, whose mother is a Navajo and father a Winnebago. Kunstler claims Bracy was offered immunity in the Navy's attempt to build its case against Lonetree but that Bracy had refused to accept it.
