Lawrence, Barnard and Rainsford played well in the line, and did not have much trouble with their opponents. Bowditch succeeded in boxing the ends well, and stopping the plays directed around his end. Burgess was drawn in on a double pass, but except for that played an effective game. Baldwin was not entirely sure, and did not tackle very well. Campbell was about the only man back of the line who took full advantage of all the openings, and on the defensive he supported the line well.
