...peril. The title track, just hard-core enough for a peppy drive to high school, sings, "It's been too many times that I raised my voice at you.... Hypocritical swine I have had it this time." But if any band can fuel an album on their own burn-out, it's KMFDM. The middle of the record, however, gropes: a sicky song on aliens jumbles the rhythm begun with "ADIOS." Female vocals have served KMFDM well in the past, but not here. At times, even, the band stops grating, and their sound reminds one that Depeche Mode remains...
...McCain replies, "If you don't believe in it, don't say it. And if you do believe in it, say it with some passion." And sure enough, when McCain talks about the "corruption" caused by the way campaigns are financed, he is all passion: his eyes burn; his voice is clear; and his words flow unchecked by calculation. He is excited too when he rails against popular ethanol subsidies in ethanol-dependent Iowa or preaches the value of ethnic diversity in lily-white New Hampshire. But ask him about the rest of his message, and McCain dutifully recites...
...trying to figure out how Internet companies will ultimately figure in the economy--Will they crash and burn? Or soar even higher?--CMGI is a good place to start. These investors look only...

Ultimately it's a book about love--a unique book in that the love with which it deals is fairly singular. The book doesn't seem to be trying to expose some broad message or preach anything to us. It is simply telling another story of love, loss and happiness...
...HOLLIS nor Amazon seems to have heard of it, and his delicious piece on Ashbery's cover is credited to a gallery in Lausanne. Still, on its own pre-pubescent feet Girls on the Run is a wonder, combining dead-pan modernist language with the poignancy of a concrete burn on a Sunday afternoon. Reading the entire 55-page poem through is akin to sitting through a ten hour film, and Girls on the Run features an additional hypnotism in the person of its girls. Shuffles shuffles, Judy suggests and Tidbit agrees: plunky spunkiness speaks through childish seriousness as planes...
