...preliminary practice began with work in falling on the ball for the entire squad. Then the line men were coached in blocking and breaking through and there was punting practice for the backs and ends. The ends went down under the kicks but did not tackle the runners. Burr, Knowlton, Foster and Brill did the kicking, and of these Burr did by far the best work, getting off some remarkably long punts...

...offensive play of the first eleven was fast and effective, and two touchdowns were scored in a 12 1-2 minute period. The defense, however, was not as good as on Tuesday, owing partly to the fact that Burr and Whitman, who have had practically no experience this year, were in the line-up. There was still too much fumbling, but it was partly due to poor passing. Starr's work at catching punts and kickoffs in the backfield showed great improvement, and he used remarkably good judgment in running the ball back. McFadon played a steady game at guard...

Paul made a short gain, but Lockwood fumbled and Nesmith secured...

...yard line. Brill punted to Gilder, who made a reckless hurdle, but failed to get through the line. The second gained its distance once, but was then held for downs on the 50-yard line. Foster punted to Gilder, who made a splendid catch. An exchange of kicks by Burr and Brill netted about 15 yards for the second eleven, but the first team immediately held for downs. Wendell made good gains, but Somes fumbled on the 32-yard line. Burr went in to punt for the second team, but the pass was poor and the line blocked the kick...
