Taylor secured the ball on Burr's kick-off on his five-yard line and punted back to Newhall on the 45-yard line. After the second team had secured the ball on a forward pass, Taylor punted, Newhall downing the ball on the 55-yard line. Foster made five yards and Kennard added 15 more on a forward pass; then, after a penalty for holding, the first eleven lost the ball on a pass, regaining it in a few plays on Taylor's punt. ...some new plays. The guards, under Coach Marshall, and the tackles, under O. F. Cutts L.'02, who has been appointed a coach for the rest of the season, were given practice in their positions. Newhall, Hall, Starr, and Taylor practiced drop kicking for some time, while Foster, Burr, and Kennard punted to the half backs in order to give the ends experience in running down under the ball. The ends and backs had a long practice in picking up the ball on onside kicks. Mason and Macdonald were again in the practice and Apollonio was out watching the work...
