Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin today said Israel would seek the extradition of Mousa Abu Marzuk, a Palestinian businessman detained in New York Thursday. U.S. officials claim he is a senior leader of the militant group Hamas. Hamas, which has claimed responsibility for several bombings in Israel, quickly warned the U.S. against turning him over. A Hamas leaflet issued in the Gaza Strip today demanded the immediate release of Abu Marzuk, saying his detention would "add to the Arab and Muslim anger that is raging against the U.S. hostile policies."
