...what? A hotter approach to filmmaking comes from John Herzfeld, writer-director of 15 Minutes, which takes its title from Andy Warhol's famous formulation about fame in the age of television. Like Minahan, Herzfeld has worked at TV's scuzzier levels (he once made a docudrama about Joey Buttafuoco), and his project was passed around even longer (eight years) before getting a green light. But unlike Minahan, who finds celebrity and greed "not very interesting," he's "fascinated by our culture's most volatile obsessions--celebrity, violence and wealth." His brutal but very well-made film manages to encompass...

Sherri Spillane--Mickey Spillane's ex-wife and the talent agent who has represented Joey Buttafuoco, John Wayne Bobbitt, Tonya Harding, Kato Kaelin, Rudy from Survivor and Judge Ito impersonator Randall Tamayei--got the idea to sign Tony Enos, the guy who drove the Ryder truck. American innocence died another little death last week. After 23 years of always interesting matrimony, it was revealed that JOEY and MARY JO BUTTAFUOCO have separated. You may recall that in 1992 Mary Jo was shot in the head by Joey's 17-year-old lover, Amy Fisher. Not one to overreact, Mary Jo stood by her man, and things seemed peachy after that little bump in the road. Following Joey's 1995 imprisonment for soliciting sex from an undercover cop (at least no one was shot), the Long Island couple moved to California to start a new life. Sadly...

...snob might say the answer here is obvious. Teach him a few big words and help him out with the bar exam, and Joey Buttafuoco could qualify as an Arkansas lawyer. But this, it turns out, is unfair to the Arkansas bar. The state supreme court's committee was made up of five lawyers and one retired schoolteacher--most of whom, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, are Democrats and might thus be considered sympathetic to the President. Nevertheless, they found that Clinton had engaged in "serious misconduct" that was "prejudicial to the administration of justice" through "dishonesty, fraud, deceit...
