Your reviewers maintain that we "charge excessive prices for mediocre food." We are not cheep. We do not pretend to be. You cannot serve prime beef, use real butter, make all your sauces from scratch, and use fresh fruit and fresh potatoes (even for the boiled ones) and have a particularly inexpensive menu. My statements can easily be checked. Come over and I'll being made fresh before each meal and the Prime stamp on the meat...

Although delicately herbed, the sauce was runny and insipid. The Soft Shell Crabs ($4.95) came swimming in butter. What should have been the crispy claws and backs of these unusual creatures were soggy...

...price of all these sauces, you also get spaghetti, sourdough bread with plain or garlic butter, salad, coffee, and spumoni ice cream. The salad swims in the dressing of your choice; the House dressing is bland and oily. The butter is whipped and the garlic effective. The spaghetti was delicate, but disappointly overcooked. The coffee was cold, but the spumoni was authentic--the real Italian kind complete with fruit and nuts...
