Captain McKean succeeded in getting out on the field about twenty candidates for the sophomore nine, yesterday afternoon. Butterworth, Fullerton and McLeod are trying for pitcher, and it is probable that McLeod will fill the position. Slade is the only candidate for catcher since Young is no longer in college. McKean will play first base, and McCoy, Faulkner, Wardner, Bates, Vilia, Rublee, Dexter, DeLong and Wheelwright are candidates for the other infield positions.
