...through some of your "news" stories about the first-year housing lottery, I was again disappointed with The Crimson. Far be it from The Crimson to actually report reality, but in case you did not know, most residents of the Quad actually enjoy living there. As an alumna of Cabot House, I can say from first-hand experience that rooms in the Quad are very nice, the walk is manageable and the TV reception is significantly better...
Quad houses are also kept spotlessly clean, and the recreation areas are incomparably more comfortable and better equipped than those of the river houses. And yes, there is red brick here: Cabot and Pforzheimer have something of the old Harvard charm on the outside, with the added plus of an interior chockfull of modern amenities. Supplementing his concern, other complaints about mis-spellings, mis-namings, mis-clue-ing on the cross-word--and recently, a mis-labeling of a picture of Pforzheimer as "Cabot House"--got me thinking that there's at least the occasional expected slip-up in reporting and editing standards. Pavninder Singh '98 of Lowell House, in a complaint echoed by many Quadlings, said, "My main problem with the paper is that I don't get it every day." Well...
