...right, you trollops, up against the wall! This is Phyllis ("Never Met a Man Who Was a Cad") Schlafly speaking. Stop your lascivious behavior at the copy machine, cease your sultry coffee service, and no more sexually explicit typing. Don't you know that virtue is its own reward? On-the-job harassment: Hah! That's what you get for unchaining yourselves from your kitchen stoves and trying to pretend you have something other than chitlins and children to give the world...
...could - and did - drug Sue Ellen (Lin da Gray) and steal her gun, proceed to the Ewing Oil Building, shoot that triple-timing cad in the gut, deposit the unconscious Sue Ellen at an airport parking lot, and later plant the gun in J.R.'s bedroom closet, thus implicating Sue Ellen. Confronted with her guilt, Kristin announced she was pregnant with J.R.'s child, and dared him to put her in jail, leaving her ex-lover in a quandary and the TV audience wondering what sort of offspring these vipers could produce...
Here's what happens. Dona Flor (Sonia Braga) is a lovely and virtuous young widow who marries a dull fellow, the local pharmacist (Mauro Mendonca). To her pretty confusion, the ghost of her randy first husband Vadinho (Jose Wilker) returns to torment her. Rita Moreno is an animated delight as the amorous prey of a slickly narcissistic cad (Laurence Guittard). and George Rose lends his customary authoritative presence to the role of the autocratic shop owner with a heart of fudge. As for Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, they serve playgoers a song feast in which music is indeed the food of love. T.E.K...
...France Pisier and Guy Marchand, who are off making love. This latest infidelity is only one more in a long line of similar abuses both Barrault and Lanoux have suffered over the course of their decade-long marriages. Pisier is an impulsive and flirtatious gamine and Marchand a priapic cad who insists on relieving his guilt by telling his wife all the lurid details. If that isn't enough to stack the deck in favor of Barrault and Lanoux, we also find out that they, unlike their incorrigibly promiscuous mates, have for the most part remained stolidly faithful. They...
