...effort managed to neutralize two of Northeastern's strongest field events. Ron Chambers, the Huskie powerhouse who two weeks ago in the Northeastern meet swept three events (taking first place in both jumps and the 60-yd. dash), was the winner in both events. Teammates Ricky Thompson and John Caffrey followed Chambers's meet record mark of 24 ft., 4 3/4 in. in the long jump with second and fifth place finishes. In the triple jump, Huskie jumper Carl Brown followed Chambers's lead with a fourth-place finish...
...dash, Chambers and Thompson came back to the pits, where Chambers easily won the triple jump by jumping 49' 5", beating an excellent performance by Harvard's Bruce Brooks, who took second with a jump of 47' 3".
