Since the men were called out in February, practice has been held in the Cage regularly, until about two weeks ago, when the squad went out doors for the first time. The men have shown steady improvement, and play a good game in the field for so early in the season, although the batting still continues rather weak. The pitches are developing, but with warmer weather should advance more rapidly...

The battle are fast becoming accustomed to the curves and to an increase of speed; and, although they still have a tendency to draw away from the plate, due partly to the poor light of the Cage and also to the inaccuracy with which the balls break over the plate, they are really batting very well for this time of year.
