...Freshman squad has been practicing regularly in the Cage for the past four weeks. When the men were called out, about 60 candidates reported to Coach C. D. Moss '09. ...University baseball squad is now having its fourth week of practice in the Cage, and the work seems to be well advanced for so early in the year. The batting is not quite so satisfactory as the rest of the work, but this is easily accounted for by the fact that the pitchers had two weeks' start over the rest of the men and have not been favoring the batters with easy balls. Coach Mathewson's three weeks' work with the pitchers ended last Saturday and was in every way a success. The squad made excellent progress under his direction...
