...game Stagg showed himself to be a superior pitcher to Ames, but the loose fielding of the Yale men seemed to discourage Stagg, and during the latter part of the game his pitching was much less effective The features of the game were the heavy batting of McClintock, Calhoun and Payne. Noyes, Yale's captain, did not seem to play as well as usual and his three errors were costly.
