There are already concerns about housing inequity on campus, as many students dread being “Quadded” when Housing Day comes around. The last thing we need is to add a fear for their own safety into the life of Quad students. The shuttle cuts create substantial dangers during the nighttime and inconvenience at all hours. In reaction to the outrage over these shuttle cuts during the town-hall meetings, the administration promised to reevaluate the plan. ...Harvard is full of brilliant minds and creative thinkers. While it would have been preferable for the administration to ask for student feedback before these announced changes, it is still worthwhile to solicit solutions or compromises that will keep students safe within budgetary restrictions. Despite the outcry on campus through private and public e-mails from students, parents, faculty, and alumni, as yet, a week after the announced cuts, we have received no sign that the administration is listening.
