...surprise of the week was the defeat of Queen's University, of Kingston, Ont., by the Crescent Athletic Club, of Brooklyn, N. Y., by the one-sided score of 5 to 1. This is only the second time the Canadian college has been defeated by an organization in the United States in over five years. According to a cable from London received at Brockville, Ont., Allan Shortt '17, who was attached to the machine gun section of the 59th Canadian battalion was officially announced as missing after an engagement on the French front. Shortt, who is lieutenant, is thought to be a prisoner of war. He is a nephew of the late Seth Low, LL.D., '90, former mayor-of New York, and was a member of the Class of 1917 when he went to Brockville to enlist...
