...with how realistically Voith and Gadgil see the UC’s possible relationship with the College. Again, while we share the College’s skepticism about the UC’s ability to plan large scale campus events independently, there has been no indication that the other candidates?? more radical plans are actually feasible. Like other candidates, Voith and Gadgil endorse more collaboration with the administration in planning social events, but they differ in that their proposal is something that University Hall will accept. We also feel that Voith’s outreach to the administration...

...visibility contests” in front of the Science Center, Grimeland, Hadfield, and their supporters are talking to people about UC-related issues that they feel strongly about, seeking to gain momentum one Harvard student at a time. ONE BY ONEGabe M. Scheinmann ’08, the candidates?? campaign manager, says, “What we want to do is focus on meeting as many students as possible, hopefully all, going door-to-door, in the freshmen dorms, in the Quad, by the River.” Last year’s campaign manager...

A result of this past underfunding was the perception that some previous candidates may have underhandedly spent their own money on their campaigns, a clear violation of election finance rules. Candidates?? bending of election rules is unacceptable, as it erodes the student body’s trust in its elected representatives and detracts from the legitimacy of our democratic system. Now that campaign coffers boast a healthy $400 each, there is no reason for candidates to break those rules...
