LASER-GUIDED ARTILLERY: The Army is enthusiastic about the potential of a newly developed 155-mm. shell. Fired from a conventional cannon, the 6-in. shell sprouts tail fins and small forward wings to prevent spinning. It can be aimed up to 500 yds. wide of a target illuminated with a laser beam projected by a forward observer. A native of Alabama, he joined Rockefeller's New York staff in 1969. For Rocky, he held a post with duties similar to his Domestic Council position: chairman of the Commission on Critical Choices for Americans...

...skiers had just finished a week of training on the steep slopes, of Cannon Mountain, and were surprised by the shallow pitch of the slope chosen for the giant slalom. While they had been skiing well in Hampshire, the hard edging techniques that they acquired were not the fastest way down the flat OS course. Raines, Adler and sophomore Peter Anton finished a disappointing 29th, 31st, and 38th respectively. Peter Andersen of Dartmouth sporting a skin tight silvery blue downhill suit won the race with a technically superb...
