...tough being a woman in a mostly male profession. Now imagine being Eve, whose co-workers at Ruff Ryders include DMX, a guy whose musical canon features What These B______ Want and other numbers that will never be chosen as theme songs for Oprah. ("DMX is one of my best friends," Eve says. "That's like my dog for life!") Hard-core female rappers--Foxy Brown, Lil' Kim--compete with male rappers by using sex as a weapon. Eve has found a balance: she's tough enough to run with the big dogs and sensitive enough to hug a small...

...King Kong" more than any other movie. I lost count at 33 viewings back when I was around 17, and that was a very long time ago. I'm sure the count stands at over 50 now. I'm not sure it's the most significant film in my canon, but it's a big one, like "Citizen Kane" or "Vertigo" or "Taxi Driver" or "La Dolce Vita." ...rest of the pack, don't bother. The HP 648C produced nice text but poor images, both of which it expelled at a turtle trot. The Canon S400 took 20 to 30 sec. to warm up each time I changed a setting, then produced mostly mediocre text and graphics. And as much as I liked the simple setup and compact design of the Lexmark, its overall quality and speed were too inconsistent to push it into the winner's circle...
