...Freshman candidates for the 'Varsity and class nines reported for first practice yesterday at the Carey Building. Captain Rand practiced them at gounders and quick starts for about twenty minutes and then gave them a short run. Henceforth E. H. Sears, 2nd, '99, will have entire charge of the squad. The names of the candidates were not taken yesterday but a full list will be taken today. The squad will keep up a light daily practice through the mid-year period...
