Renegade publisher Paladin Press was founded in 1970 by Peder Lund, a former Green Beret captain, and Robert Brown, who later left to start Soldier of Fortune magazine. The Boulder, Colo., publisher's "Action Library" runs heavily to books on armed combat and bombmaking.
