...class fall to do so, the more conscientious ones will be bearing much more than their share of the burden. The only just expectation is that every man give just as much as he can afford and no more. Seniors owe this duty to their class, and careless postponements of the subscription will unnecessarily complicate the duties of the Treasurer...
...hope that criticisms of this year's songs will not discourage would-be composers. The short period of a football song competition tends to produce hasty and careless work; and in future the effort should begin several months ahead. Those who have been unsuccessful this season should not be content with one attempt, but should begin at once to study the class of song which is required, and endeavor to produce something of real merit and enduring popularity...
...regular University team held only a light practice yesterday, consisting of punting by the backs and running through signals. A short scrimmage was held between the University substitutes and the second eleven in which the former scored one touchdown. The workmanship, too, is careless in places, and suggests the approach of the end of the year. "We had reached the Fayoum after a long day's travel over the desert the night before," would hardly be expected on an entrance examination. D. Carb's "Ellen Terry" is a thoughtful and well-written appreciation, and R. Altrocchi's "Vaudeville" an excellent bit of satire...
