Since the first day of practice a week ago, about 60 men have been practicing daily with the freshman baseball squad. Their work so far has consisted of light dumb-bell exercises in the Gymnasium, followed by a short run to the Carey building, where they practice catching grounders and starting. They have also begun lately to practice sliding. The candidates for battery positions are now working in the gymnasium cage and will probably be joined soon by some of the 'varsity candidates. From present indications the freshmen should have a strong battery, but it is too early...
