...flurry of search warrants and interrogations quickly followed. In Zazi's rental car, agents allegedly found a laptop containing nine pages of bombmaking instructions. Zazi returned to Denver and volunteered for FBI interviews; when he stopped cooperating, he was arrested, initially for giving false statements. He was indicted on Sept. 24 for "conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction." Beyond that, it's unclear where the evidence stands. Have bombs been found? Are the targets known? How close was Zazi to taking action? Will other suspects be charged? Officials aren't saying. The picture "will get clearer as time goes...
...Europe's best-kept ski secret lies in the Bjelasica mountains at Jezerine, about 15 minutes by car outside the town of Kolasin, itself an hour and a half's drive up the stunning Moraca Canyon from the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica. Although the range's highest peak, Crna Glava (Black Head), is only 7,018 ft. (2,139 m), the amount of snowfall and variety of terrain in Jezerine will surprise you. Sadly for Ford, Asia accounts for a mere 5% of the company's total global revenues. In China, it's ranked only the fifth largest in sales (GM, now owned by the U.S. government, is No. 1). In India, Ford is a distant eighth. (See the 50 worst cars...
...Ford clearly wants to improve its standing. On Sept. 23, CEO Alan Mulally was in New Delhi to unveil a new four-door hatchback called the Figo that is aimed squarely at India and neighboring South Asian countries. Designed by Indian engineers on the Fiesta platform, the new small car "is going to be a game changer," predicts Michael Boneham, president and managing director of Ford India. When it debuts next year, the Figo (the name means "cool" in Italian) will be made in India and powered by either a 1.2-liter gas or 1.5-liter diesel engine. Ford also...
