Bogdanovich can't offer anything beyond a literal, superficial interpretation in his Daisy Miller. Sexual undertones are about as subtle as the emulsion on celluloid; without them it couldn't work at all; with them it's just barely worth seeing. But be warned: take James's words to heart...
