...Benedict Center was established in 1940 by a group of Harvard Catholics as a somewhat more independent version of the Newman Clubs (for Catholic students) in other universities. But when Father Feeney became the center's spiritual director seven years ago, it soon began to grow into a full-dress academic institution, teaching Greek, church history, philosophy, literature and hagiography.
