Policy debate is structured around two-person teams. One person does mostly affirmative, one mostly negative. Everybody debates on the same issue all year, so eventually the arguments are tailored to fit a certain team’s style. Tournaments are long and intense. Jonze's biggest challenge lies in sustaining the movie's forward momentum during Max's time with the wild things.
