...HAVEN, CONN., June 3. - A storm this afternoon on prevented the final match in the tennis tournament for the New England championship between Howland and Chace. After the rain a court was scraped and play began. It was a battle royal. Howland smashed well at the net and worked the cross-court to advantage. Chace was steady and used a beautiful Lawford. Howland missed easy returns, but played an aggressive game. Chace won the first set, 6-4. He started in to win the next and had the score 3-1, when Howland rallied.
