After the secretary had read the minutes of the last meeting, the chairman of the executive committee reported that the petition for a dark-room in Sever Hall was in the hands of the Bursar, who was empowered to make such arrangement with the club as he could. Thanks to the untiring efforts of Prof. Richards, of Yale, and to the unexpected success in collecting subscriptions, Yale's new gymnasium will soon be a reality. Mr. A. M. Dodge, Yale '74, the chairman of the committee in charge of collecting the necessary funds, announces that $110,000 have already been subscribed for the new gymnasium and $10,000 have been pledged by graduates. To secure additional subscriptions a letter has been issued to graduates in New York and from this it is hoped a large sum will result. As yet no building plans have been accepted...
About fifteen men assembled yesterday afternoon in 33 Mathews for the purpose of organizing a photographic society amongst the students of Harvard University. Mr. C. L. B. Withrow, L. S., as temporary chairman, briefly stated the object of such a society and said that the faculty would surely countenance it; moreover, the corporation would probably grant the use of a room in Sever hall to be used as a dark room. Professor Chaplin, the chairman of the auditing committee, who has hitherto done nearly all the work of the committee, was recently obliged to give up all college duties on account of severe trouble with his eyes. The rest of the committee, after some unavoidable delay, have succeeded in auditing the accounts of all the athletic organizations except the Boat Club. The manager of the Boat Club has been away from Cambridge for some time, and it has been impossible, therefore, to audit his accounts.
