Usage:

The tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the eight team NCAA Tournament which starts the following weekend. Altogether, four Eastern teams will advance, the ECAC and Hockey East tournament champions and two others.

In the latest WMEB/CHSB poll, North Dakota (32-7) is the unanimous top choice, followed by Boston College (25-7), Minnesota (30-9-1) and Michigan State (29-9-2). Last year's national champions, the Spartans, are tied with the Crimson in that fourth slot.

Sophomores Jenny Greene and Janice Sweetser both earned titles in last year's Eastern meet and will be looking to repeat as champions. Greene finished on top in the three-meter diving competition in '86, and grabbed a fourth-place finish on the one-meter board.
