...Harvard tradition of almost three hundred years standing is broken on the plague in the New Memorial Chapel commemorating the three Harvard men who died during the World War on the side of the Central Powers. E. K. Rand '94. Pope Professor of Latin, stated last night that the form "Harvardianus-a-um" was the approved Latin equivalent of the adjective "Harvard." But the plaque uses the third declension adjective in the inscription, thus: "Universitas Harvardiensis."
