A punt by Chapin, on the second play, was recovered by Tolbert at midfield when muffed by a black-jerseyed back. Eight yard dashes by Chapin and Johnson, topped by line plunges by Horween and Owen respectively, gave the University two first downs, and threatened the seconds' goal.
