After a few minutes of play Howard recovered a fumbled punt on Yale's 30-yard line. The ball was carried over the goal-line. The ball was carried over the goal-line for a touchdown in four rushes, Chatfield making the score. Gardiner kicked the goal. After the next kick-off Yale rushed the ball to Harvard's 35-yard line.
