Near the start of this semester the demise of UCBooks—a textbook finding, money saving program run by the council—removed a useful tool to help undergraduates quickly find the cheapest textbooks for specific Harvard courses. And after the council announced a Wyclef Jean and Jurassic 5 concert last May, the event was cancelled when Associate Dean of the College David P. Even worse is Coke’s scheme to keep the few workers it does cover from taking part in the treatment plan. Coke requires workers to make a 10 percent co-payment. Previous estimates put the cheapest annual treatment for one HIV positive patient at a cost of $2,500. For a Coke employee, many of whom make well under $3,000 a year, the cost is an impossible burden. ...first and most obvious step is to allow voters to register and vote online. The Internet is the fastest and cheapest way to collect votes, and it is available to most Americans in schools, homes, offices and public libraries. Best of all, with the Internet, people can vote from anywhere in the country, eliminating the need for absentee ballots. More Harvard students vote for the Undergraduate Council than vote in city, state and national elections, even though—sorry if I’m biased—the council has much, much less impact on our daily lives than...

...been worries over patent expirations and a slim pipeline of new drugs. So the P/E for some has slipped below the market. "Pills are cheaper than hospitals," notes Bill Nygren, manager of the value-oriented Oakmark Fund. He expects the group to return to above-market growth. Among the cheapest are Merck and Bristol-Myers Squibb...
