About one hundred candidates for the track team began winter gymnasium work yesterday. Four squads were formed and for an hour each one took light exercise with chest-weights and dumb-bells. The men hurdled for a short time and then ran three laps on the board track. After this work has continued for a week, the sprinters, hurdlers, long and high-jumpers and weight men will be placed in a separate squads and each squad will practice in its special branch. About 230 pictures in all were entered for the contest. Probably half of these will be selected for preservation with the March journals in a sealed chest, and the rest will form a nucleus for a new collection which it has been decided to form. This new collection will be kept in the Gore Hall Library, and will be accessible at all times to members of the University, as part of the regular College records.
