Vice President José Guizado, 55, who moved up to the presidency, is a millionaire contractor, educated at Nashville's Vanderbilt University, and another good friend of the U.S. But he is in poor health and lacks Chichi's tough-minded energy. Remón's death thus created a vacuum in politics as well as at the head of the National Guard.
