The Harvest Cantata, composed by Garrett, with words selected and written by Dr. Waller, was sung by the choirs of Appleton chapel and St. Paul's church, Boston. After a short service conducted by the Rev. F. G. Peabody, the organist introduced the Cantata with a magnificent rendering of the Hallelujah chorus from Beethoven's Mount of Olives.
