...aseball. Apple pie. The bald eagle. From April 27 to 29, the Bayside Expo Center. Yes, nothing says America like 270,000 square feet of leather-wearing, gas-guzzling, beef-jerky-eating motorcycle show. From the deerskin bustiers to the evangelistic "Riders for Christ," the Great American Motorcycle Show makes you want to put on that American flag do-rag and sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." Last week the Rev. JERRY FALWELL, writing in USA Today, counseled Bill Clinton to resign or ask public forgiveness. His grounds: Scripture bids the leader, "Flee from all appearances of evil," and standards are "immensely higher for those who invoke the name of Christ, as Bill Clinton does." Falwell, however, may have a first-stone problem. The bronze cast of the of the Countess Matilda (called the "FalkBronze" after its donor) is one of two remainingfigurines that closely resemble the statue of thecountess in the tomb erected in St. Peter'sBasilica under order of Pope Barberini. ...indeed. Just one day after the asteroid slammed into the media maelstron, the ripple effect was astonishing. John Walvoord, chancellor of the Dallas Theological Seminary, said the asteroid ?may be a foreshadowing of the second coming of Christ.? Dr. Edward Teller, the father of the H-bomb, advocated planting a nuclear device on its rocky surface. And -- surprise, surprise -- Marsden himself smiled meekly from the front page of Friday?s New York Times. Which could go a long way toward answering Don Yeomans? question...
