For the purpose of testing this hypothesis, I wish to get one or more Harvard students who know Greek enough to pass the ordinary entrance examination to the Greek courses of Harvard, and who are not familiar with the contents of the Bible, nor with the belief of Christian churches, to translate for me certain passages from the Bible. The passages will be very short and the translations are to be literal. The only question is to express in English what the writer said in Greek,--actually said! We care not what he thought on any collateral topics...
