First, the Council will attempt to discover and to state the spiritual values of non-Christian systems of religion; it will review Confucianism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islamism from a sympathetic point of view. Yale's other contribution to an institution now regarded as a rival of the Blue was made in the person of Eleazar Wheelock, of the Class of 1733, first president of Dartmouth College.
