Baptists. Strictly interpreted, the statement of the "officially appointed agencies on temperance and law enforcement of the Northern Baptist Convention" was routine, coming from temperance and enforcement workers of the church. It asked all good Baptists to vote against Smith, for Hoover (TIME, Sept. 24).
