...donation from Billionaire Hughes given in 1969 and 1970 to Bebe Rebozo, the President's good friend, was in turn given or lent for the personal use of two other Nixon intimates: Rose Mary Woods, the President's personal secretary, and Donald Nixon, his brother. This claim by Kalmbach directly contradicts sworn testimony by Rebozo and Miss Woods. Rebozo contends that the money was kept untouched for three years in a safety deposit box and then returned to Hughes. The testimony also conflicts with similar public assertions by President Nixon. Kalmbach testified that his source for this information...
...equal value, status and moral worth? "Because," answers Gans, "they express the differing aesthetic standards of people in different socioeconomic and educational circumstances." Out of that academic window goes all thought of standards, judgment and improved tastes. But what a patronizing way to enshrine equality! For example, the real claim of the blues to be taken seriously when set against contemporary classical music (so much of which is technically accomplished but derivative and sterile) turns on the vulgar vitality, beauty and originality of the music, and not on the "different socioeconomic and educational circumstances" of its performers or its audience...

This is what "genocide" means, and to misuse the word in the manner of the editorial both cheapens...
...contribution could be legally arranged. Then, to repay Lilly, AMPI asked attorneys and public relations firms with whom they had previous friendly business dealings for interest-free loans ranging from $5,000 to $56,000 each. AMPI paid back the lenders by raising their retainers. All of them now claim that they never suspected that they were being used to launder the money contributed to Nixon. Ironically, many of the lenders were prominent Democrats, including Richard Maguire, former treasurer of the Democratic National Committee; the late Clifton C. Carter, former executive director of the D.N.C.; and Ted Van Dyke...
