There are at present about forty men doing active work in the fencing practice which is held every Tuesday and Friday evening at the Gymnasium. Both Hitchings and Clapp of last year's team are eligible this year. Among the new men there is some very good material which has developed unusually well. An open tournament for novices alone will be given later in the year under the direction of the Boston Athletic Association. There has been more interest in fencing this year than ever before and with the good material a strong team will undoubtedly enter the intercollegiate match...
