...team consisting of Messrs. Clyde, Austin, Oakes, Mead and Palmer went to Clarendon Hills yesterday afternoon, and shot the third and deciding match with the Jamaica Plain team. The team did some very good shooting, making 27 out of a possible 30 in the third round. The best shooting was done by Mr. F. S. Palmer, '86. The score by rounds was as follows...

...team consisting of Messrs. Clyde, Green, W. Austin, Oakes, Green, Mead and Palmer, went to Clarendon Hills yesterday afternoon, and shot a match with the Jamaica Plain club. The team was very hospitably received. The score in the first half was very close, being tied several times. Toward the end the Jamaica Plain men gained steadily. The final score was - Jamaica Plain 88 - Harvard St. Each man shot at ten clay pigeons and ten bats. The best shooting of the day was done by Mr. W. Austin, '87, and Mr. Green, '89. A return match will be shot at Watertown...

...this point to the finish came the most interesting part of the race, enlivened by the cheers of the numerous spectators on the wall. The seniors seemed to gain at every stroke, and were rowing in excellent form, while the sophomores were rapidly drawing up on the freshmen. At Clarendon street, two blocks from the finish, the crews all spurted; in the meantime the sophomores had taken third place from the freshmen. At this point the form of the seniors and sophomores was noticeably good, while the juniors seemed to be slightly broken up. The seniors crossed the finish line...
