...listening. Although the diverse and divisive debates she fosters at times land in the world of minutia, her approach has spawned results. Halfway into her tenure, Riley has already spearheaded the institution of a new social programming board and proposed a popular overhaul of the Campus Life Committee (CLC). Although Riley is not exactly a trailblazer—last year’s president and vice president already proposed such an agenda—Riley’s style is avant-garde. Riley has meticulously checked off a list of student groups to meet with, lassoing them into...

Intramural dodgeball competitors last Saturday were treated to an afternoon dip in a pool—a pool filled with nippy, green gelatin, that is. The Campus Life Committee (CLC) combined two college classics—intramural sports and Jell-O wrestling—to create “Slippery When Wet,” a spring water event held in between games of the House Intramural Dodgeball Tournament last weekend in the Malkin Athletic Center Quad. Last week, the UC began discussing possibilities for organizational restructuring of its three main committees—the Campus Life Committee (CLC), the Finance Committee (FiCom), and the Students Affairs Committee (SAC). It is important that the much needed restructuring of the UC begin as soon as possible. With the pending formation of an independent social programming board, the CLC will have no clear mission. The UC should dissolve the CLC...
