...Second Nine defeated the All-Leiter team yesterday afternoon by a score of 9 to 2. The Second found Coburn early in the game, and made eleven clean hits. The Leiter team bunched hits in the second and third innings, but during the rest of the game Winsor pitched strongly. Neither team fielded well, but the Second showed much better team work...

Kernan's work behind the bat shows promise. He showed, however, a lack of steadiness, especially in holding third strikes. Frantz covered first base satisfactorily, and Coolidge fielded his position remarkably well. Clark's one assist was on a bunt, which he handled cleanly and quickly. Murphy opened the game with an error, but after that did well. In the whole game Lafayette hit the ball to the outfield but once, and then it was easily handled by Putnam. Higgs was slow in backing up second, and allowed a runner to take third on a high throw by Kernan...

...Leiter Cup series yesterday afternoon, defeating the Loafers by the score of 15 to 7. The battery work of Laverack and Putnam was very effective, especially when men were on bases. The Dew Drops solved Coburn's pitching early in the game and succeeded in making ten clean hits. Laverack supplemented his good pitching by two three-base hits and a two-base bit. In the last half of the ninth inning the Loafers made three successive hits that brought in two runs, but with a man on first and second the Loafers lost their last chance...
