...University crews rowed yesterday in the same orders as on Wednesday, and during the practice went over the mile and seven-eighths course rowing in fours and eights. Coach Higginson directed the work and paid special attention to getting a clean, long finish. In spite of the rather rough water both boats were considerably steadier than on Wednesday, and the crews rowed with more life and drive. When rowing in eights the stroke was, with a few exceptions, very low, rarely exceeding 28 to the minute...

...trip, since the Harvard team proved its ability to hit the ball. In this department, Coolidge and R. P. Kernan were especially strong, each meeting three hits, and the latter two home runs and a three-base hit. The fielding of the team, however, was not so clean as in the game with Georgetown, and the base-running was crude and lifeless. Coburn pitched a fairly steady game, striking out nine men, and allowing but three bases on balls...

The game with Manhattan Saturday was cancelled...

Early in the second half, however, the Yale five secured a lead and in the twenty minutes of play succeeded in adding fourteen points to its score and holding the University team down to the addition of three points. The game was marked by clean and fast play by both teams throughout. Yale's victory was due to superior teamwork and ability to throw baskets. The best work for the University team was done by Grant and Bigelow...

...University basketball team was defeated by the Washington Continental A. A. at Schenectady on Saturday night by the score of 20 to 15. This was the second game of the western trip. The game was clean and fast throughout. The work of the team was much better than in the Cornell game on Friday, but the ability of the Schenectady team to get the jump at centre served to keep the ball well in Harvard territory. Gilles played a fast game at forward, throwing four of the five field goals made by the Harvard team. A crowd...
